Kids Need to Read is honored to announce the addition of Debora Brown to the organization’s Board of Directors. Brown is one of the founding members of Kids Need to Read and has been with the organization since its inception in 2007. In August of 2014, she stepped down as Operations Director of the organization to concentrate on her family and return to school to finish her master’s degree. She is currently a full-time student at Kaplan University working toward her Masters in Psychology – Behavior Analysis degree. Before her time with Kids Need to Read, Brown was a teacher whose specialty was working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
A native of Seattle, Brown moved to Mesa, Arizona in 2010 to work full-time for Kids Need to Read. While performing her duties for the organization, she met the love of her life, Adam. She now resides in Phoenix with Adam and his two children. However, she returns to Seattle as much as she can to see her sister Denise and her beloved hometown. Brown loves to cook, and is an avid reader and football fan.
Kids Need to Read warmly welcomes Ms. Brown to the Board of Directors. Her past experience developing and working within the organization will be of great value as Kids Need to Read expands its impact on the literacy rates of disadvantaged children.
