The Softwire: The Genesis of Kids Need to Read

Kids Need to Read would like to congratulate our founder, PJ Haarsma, on today’s release of the fourth and final installment of The Softwire Series.  The first Softwire book led to the creation of our foundation and its mission to inspire kids to read, so this series will always be held close to our hearts.  The story goes something like this:

An author pours his soul into a book.  He alone must inspire people to read his book.  He travels to schools to present his creation to teachers and children.  He faces a disturbing question – why are there so few books?  The author stands up for literacy.  Kids Need to Read is born.

From Virus on Orbis 1 to Awakening on Orbis 4, Kids Need to Read salutes PJ and the beauty of writing, the inspiration of reading, and the strength of kindness.

Empower a kid today – give them a book!
