Space Pirates, PJ Haarsma, Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, and new books for kids – don’t miss this!
Kids Need to Read founder PJ Haarsma has a big day coming up soon. The third book in his Softwire series, Wormhole Pirates on Orbis 3, will be released on April 14, 2009.
To celebrate, the Barnes & Noble store in Oceanside, California is hosting a book release party on April 18, 2009 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This release party will have all the standard things such events have, like special guests and book signings, but it isn’t all about fun. This particular shindig serves a greater purpose, as well. Up to twenty-five percent of the proceeds from store-wide sales at the party will be donated to Kids Need to Read when this special coupon is presented before the purchase. Not only that, this offer is good during the entire event week, April 18th through April 24th.
Even better, other Barnes & Nobles stores are getting in on the act, too! Anyone who makes purchases from any Barnes & Noble retailer in the United States can present the coupon to designate KNTR as the beneficiary during the event week. Barnes & Noble will then donate up to twenty-five percent of their sale to Kids Need to Read.
KNTR co-founder Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have promised to come celebrate with PJ and Kids Need to Read at the Oceanside happening. Come on by and say hello to these two friends of KNTR. Please let them know how much you appreciate their support for childhood literacy.
This is sure to be a fun event and everyone at Kids Need to Read is very excited for PJ and for this chance to raise funds to get more books into the hands of kids everywhere.
Thank you Barnes & Noble!
