Hi all!
Kids Need to Read has been adopted as the ‘charity’ of choice of the Estrogen Brigade.
Who are the Estrogen Brigade? By and large, we are a group of female fans of Nathan Fillion and his various endeavors & friends (there are a few men in the mix!). After the group was created, we decided we needed t-shirts and other items for our group, so I started a shop at cafepress.com.
Not wanting to keep the profit from ideas the group as a whole generated, I put it to the group to adopt a charity to contribute our meager profits to. KNTR was launched about the same time, and was a perfect fit! Not only have many Brigade members donated by purchasing individual donation packages, but we donate all of the profit from items in the shop to KNTR.
A couple weeks back, I mentioned a quick dinner recipe to the gang, and the idea for a cookbook blossomed quickly. Currently, we have a recipe blog going. Anyone can contribute. Once we have enough (that number is still to be determined), we will convert the recipes into a .pdf file and have cafepress turn the whole project into a book! The book will in turn be added to our shop, and the profits will go to KNTR.
Shortly, we will also be offering KNTR items, such as T-shirts and other popular items.
