Robin Brande’s first Kids Need to Read Auction!

Kids Need to Read is excited to announce our first auction featuring the work of author Robin Brande. Robin is a novelist and former trial attorney. Her young adult novel Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature, was published by Knopf/Random House in August, 2007. The ALA and YALSA have nominated the novel as one of the Best Books for Young Adults for 2007. It has also been selected by Borders as one of their “Original Voices” for September 2007.

Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature is a story about Mena, a young girl who is having a crisis of faith. When she decides to do the right thing, everyone she knows and loves turns their backs on her. Her entire group of friends, her church group even her own parents won’t talk to her. The only person who will pay her any mind at all is Casey, her supersmart lab partner in science class. When Ms. Shepherd, Mena’s science teacher, begins the unit on evolution, school becomes more dramatic than Mena could ever imagine. Her own life is about to evolve in some amazing and unexpected ways.

We will be holding our auction on January 6th through January 9th. Robin’s package is full of exciting and yummy things! We are very grateful to Robin for donating this fabulous package.
