The Page Coach provides a unique mobile outreach program, one that quite literally sets the wheels in motion for enhanced community impact with a customized vehicle designed to bring the Kids Need to Read experience to children living in the lowest socioeconomic areas. Delivering books and interactive literacy events directly to Boys & Girls Clubs, transitional homes, recreation centers, libraries, and other community organizations that need literacy support most, each stop along the Page Coach’s route forges uniquely personal bonds between Kids Need to Read and the young minds its programs have long strived to benefit. By taking the message directly to the children in a fun, engaging atmosphere, the Page Coach can demonstrate more powerfully than ever the true magic of reading.

This year the proceeds from the first one hundred Phoenix Comicon Fast Passes are being donated to Kids Need to Read and since we have already met that threshold we are eager to see what other support we can bring to this great charity. —Jillian Squires, Director of Marketing, Phoenix Comicon

Suitable comic books and graphic novels will be among the many reading resources provided in visits by The Page Coach. Kids Need to Read is grateful to the many costuming groups who have offered to participate in upcoming book distributions and events!

Heartfelt appreciation goes to Phoenix Comicon for its major support of Kids Need to Read and the cause of childhood literacy over the past seven years, as millions of children across our nation continue to suffer from a lack of vital reading resources and literacy programs.

Thank YOU for supporting the Phoenix Comicon Page Coach Challenge! Campaign ends April 18, 2016 at Midnight PT.

Tis the Season

Once Upon a Time… It was a dark and stormy night… This is the tale that was told to me…: Throughout history, winter has been a season rich in the tradition of storytelling, serving as a captivating blend of entertainment and education for individuals of all ages.
