Reading buddies! Kids Need to Read needs lots of “reading buddies” for kindergarten students participating in our national READ Together program! What is a reading buddy? It is a stuffed critter to which a child reads aloud, especially when they have no one else to read with at home. We hope to have 3,000 reading buddies to share with program participants this school year. (That’s a lot!)

If you are creative, or belong to a sewing or knitting group, KNTR would love to be one of your projects! We would also be happy to accept small store-bought creatures, but they must be NEW, no exceptions. Cash sponsorships designated toward the purchase of buddies will help, as well. Reading Buddy donors are listed on the READ Together web page.

Please write to info@kidsneedtoread.org, if you can help with a reading buddy donation. We thank you for your support of this important program, which engages kindergarten and first grade students with a foundational focus on increasing reading proficiency levels for their future success.
