Hels and KAZ here reporting back from Collectormania 14 at the MK centre in
We had a productive, and immensly fun day promoting Kids Need To Read and would like to say ‘Hi’ to everyone that we met who was kind enough to stop and give us 2 minutes of their time.
SFX Magazine (sponsors of KNTR) were kind enough to let us base ourselves at their busy stand. They’re such a fun bunch and if you haven’t checked out their mag ( the earth’s greatest SciFi and fantasy magazine), do it now!!
Hi to Dave, Ade, Stuart, Will and Leah and thank you very much for accommodating us and making our Con experience so much fun!!
We took time out of the floor pounding to go and meet Morena Baccarin and Mark Sheppard from everyone’s fave TV show Firefly. They were kind enough to sign an authentic Serenity Bill for us to donate to KNTR’s highly successful auctions, so look out for that auction in the near future!
Mark was a scream and ate us alive! He is a very witty guy, but has the kind of sense of humour that takes you a few minutes to realise you’re getting teased! We spent the rest of the day thinking up what we SHOULD have replied to some of his jests and wishing we could go back and say them!
We really appreciate all the support Mark gives KNTR and would like to thank him again.
We were thrilled with some of the generous donations we received at the Con and would especially like to thank Mick at MSPG Autographs for his very generous donation … we won’t spoil the surprise but Stargate SG1 fans get saving now and watch this space!!
The con itself was very well attended and continues to be free! I think some folks who had just popped to the shops were very surprised to see Lex Luthor, Gimli and Lt. Commander Worf sitting in the middle of their shopping centre! It makes for a different atmosphere (in a good way) to most cons because some attendees obviously weren’t expecting to walk into the event.
So our day was full of fun, friendliness and generosity. The perfect day.
We must say a huge thanks to Kristen for making the hundreds of badges that we gave out on the day. They were very well received and it was great to see folks wearing them as we walked around the Con.
Over and out!
