When good friends get together, stories are always told. And when those good friends happen to be actor Nathan Fillion and author PJ Haarsma, the talk often turns to Firefly, Castle, and The Softwire – especially when they are doing an interview and the interviewer is none other than Matt Blum from GeekDad, who (as his post suggests) is a card-carrying geek. Matt would be remiss if he didn’t talk to Fillion about the television roles that made him famous and to Haarsma about his young adult science fiction novels.
But another story can be told when these two guys meet up, and Blum was kind enough to not only include it in his interview, but to make it his primary focus and give it over half his airtime.
That story is Kids Need to Read, and even amongst jokes about getting a Softwire reference on screen in Castle (that had this blogger laughing out loud) and a softly strumming guitar in the background, the seriousness of KNTR’s mission and the unwavering support of its founders shined through in KNTR’s latest press.
