Caring in the Carolinas

When I think of North Carolina, I think of surfing, sun, and sand. But it turns out that there’s a lot more to this lovely piece of land than just water and waves. It seems that it is home to some pretty generous Browncoats, too.

Can’t Stop the Serenity events have proven to be wonderful fundraisers for Kids Need to Read, and (as is always the case with such things) some showings manage to stand out as donation leaders. The Raleigh, North Carolina event, held on June 29, 2009, did just that.

Hosted by the North Carolina Browncoats, this particular screening of Serenity raised $700 for Kids Need to Read! That’s an impressive number! KNTR can get a lot of books to a lot of kids with donations like that!

The Kids Need to Read Foundation sends its thanks to every Browncoat who attended this event. In addition, we especially recognize the efforts of the organizers, sponsors, and raffle item contributors that helped make Can’t Stop the Serenity Raleigh such an amazing success for the North Carolina Browncoats and Kids Need to Read!
