Yesterday was Batman Day at Barnes & Noble Desert Ridge! Kids Need to Read participated in the festivities as part of the bookfair being conducted at the store and online. I was honored to present Batman Storytime; my favorite moment was having the kids imitate The Penguin. Too cute! Kids received Caped Crusader masks and many other goodies, including Kids Need to Read buttons, Batman buttons, and coloring pages!
Artists Ernie Najera and Armand Villavert provided free drawings to the kids throughout the day.
Thank you to all the Barnes & Noble staff and talented artists who dressed up and participated so enthusiastically, as well as the customers who purchased books for Kids Need to Read!
There are going to be other special events throughout the bookfair, so bring the kids and come join Kids Need to Read for all the fun. Be sure to enter the drawing for three Riddler figures to be given at the close of the bookfair!

- July 26th: DC Comics Day 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- August 1st: Frozen Day 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- August 2nd: Marvel Comics Day 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
- August 8th: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Day 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Anyone can participate in the bookfair, which is being conducted now through August 9th at the Desert Ridge location, as well as online. Come into the store and present the attached voucher to the cashier—a portion of your entire sale will benefit Kids Need to Read. You must give them the voucher or tell them that you want to support the KNTR bookfair when you make your purchase. And of course, the store is collecting books for Kids Need to Read, so please make a purchase for the organization while you are there. They will give the books to Kids Need to Read once the bookfair has ended. With school starting back up comes great need!
