A Home Run for Kids Need to Read

It’s spring.  Crickets are chirping and someone is tossing a baseball somewhere.  Meanwhile, at Kids Need to Read, our calendar project is in full swing, and sponsors are starting to step up to the plate.  Our first individual sponsor is Dawn Russo, who made a donation from her own savings via PayPal to start off with and then began collecting money from friends and family to add to her total.

Dawn says that she supports the Kids Need to Read Foundation “because she loved reading as a child and could not imagine not having books available to read” when she was younger.  She feels she is really making a difference in the life of another human being by donating to KNTR.

Dawn has also offered her assistance in selling the calendars when they are ready, and we are most grateful for the help.  Without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers, Kids Need to Read could not function.  We have been blessed with a powerful lineup of heavy hitters, and our team grows stronger every day.  Dawn Russo is a perfect example of why.  She not only raised over $300 for KNTR on her own, she recruited a second sponsor for the calendar, too!  The employees of Life Alert in Encino, California have also donated over $300.  That’s no sad single.  That’s hitting one out of the park!

Tis the Season
