Star Trek Mega Pack!

The voyages of the valiant crew of the Starship Enterprise continue . . . in a variety of art forms. Fans of the celebrated Star Trek domain will find plenty of variety in this Kids Need to Read Charity Auction! On the block is an impressive array of Star Trek adventures, insight, humor, and autographs! This amazing package includes:

  • The complete 4-disk DVD set of Star Trek: The Animated Series featuring the voices of original cast members! The Emmy-winning series was known for its solid writing and enrichment of the Star Trek universe. The set, donated by SFX, includes all 22 episodes and bonus Special Features.
  • The second volume of Star Trek: The Manga entitled Kakan ni Shinkou or “To Boldly Go”. In it, manga-style art and Star Trek adventures combine in brand new stories by ten assorted artists and writers. This copy is signed and donated by one of those contributing authors, actor Wil Wheaton, who portrayed the young genius Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
  • Ever wonder how James T. Kirk always managed to get the girl – no matter the species? The answers are found in Captain Kirk’s Guide to Women by John “Bones” Rodriquez. This “how to” book of romantic tips is humorously based on the Captain’s many intergalactic conquests! Signed and donated by the author.
  • The most famous Ferengi in the entire Start Trek universe is Quark, who had recurring roles in 3 different Star Trek series: The Next Generation, Deep Space 9 and Voyager. We have a 8×10 full-color, glossy photograph of the conniving — but likable – cheat. Our photo is signed by the only actor ever to portray Quark, Armin Shimerman.
  • Perhaps the most physically unusual of the many Star Trek aliens was Odo Ital, the security chief on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Odo was a shape shifter who could appear humanoid, but when he wanted to relax, reverted to a pool of gelatinous liquid! A keen observer with a cynical edge, Odo was played by elegant actor Rene Auberjonois. We have a full-color, 8×10, glossy photograph of this memorable character signed by the Tony Award-winning Mr. Auberjonois.

Go to warp speed and visit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110278798967 to place your bid on this tempting triad! Bids open at $40.00 and will be accepted until August 15, 2008

Our sincere thanks go to the humanoids who donated these items to the Kids Need to Read Charity. Money raised from these auctions is used to purchase books for under-funded schools and libraries, as well as for organizations that provide books to children.

Tis the Season

Once Upon a Time… It was a dark and stormy night… This is the tale that was told to me…: Throughout history, winter has been a season rich in the tradition of storytelling, serving as a captivating blend of entertainment and education for individuals of all ages. This enduring legacy is exemplified in Beowulf, one of the oldest recorded stories, where the narrative opens with a compelling command, “Listen! we have heard of the might of the kings,”. No matter the opening line, the timeless power and importance of story and literacy is in its ability to connect generations and communities through the ages.
