Take Us In, Mr. Sulu!

Kids Need to Read Charity Auctions has something to get all of you Star Trek fans excited! Here’s your chance to bid on an autographed, full-color 8×10 photo of actor George Takei as he appeared in the film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. This was the first time it was revealed that Mr. Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise, was eventually promoted to captain of his own starship, USS Excelsior.George’s career extends far beyond the boundaries of the immense Star Trek franchise.

The multi-talented Mr. Takei has been entertaining people since his first job dubbing a Japanese monster flick in 1957. For more than five decades, his acting career has included literally hundreds of roles in TV, film, theater and radio. In addition, George has been a community activist, politician, civil servant, writer, gay spokesperson and marathon runner. He even has an asteroid named in his honor: 7307 Takei!
