Those madcap Space Monkeys return, in this week’s Kids Need to Read Charity Auctions on eBay. These collectible charmers are 15″ high, brown and furry, wearing a shirt with “Terrify’n Space Monkey” hand painted on the front by our talented KNTR kid, Kelly. They are also proudly boasting a Kids Need to Read mini-button.
Our current auction presents one of our merry monkeys signed by actor Jonathan Woodward, who played the role of Tracey in the poignant Firefly episode “The Message”. To add to the fun, he added a playful “Yo!” above his signature! Jonathan has created a rich palette of characters in his work in TV, film, commercials and onstage, but he remains one of the most unassuming and approachable of celebrities.
Interestingly, the talented and imaginative Mr. Woodward appeared in all three of Joss Whedon’s shows (Buffy, Angel and Firefly) and DIED in each one! Now you can celebrate his winning (but deadly!) collaborations with Joss by bidding on his signed Terrify’n Space Monkey!
