February Auction Round Up

Well, it has been another busy, but very successful month for Kids Need to Read Charity Actions. With our move to eBay, things have been quite active! We would like to thank all of you for your support and understanding while we worked out a few bugs on our first eBay auction.

All of Kids Need to Read’s proceeds for February will go to support the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic in Seattle, Washington. Through the Reach Out and Read © Program (ROR), the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic gives new books to children between the ages of six months through five years at each well child check. Once a child turns six, they are no longer able to provide new books through ROR and rely solely on the generous support of individuals, companies and organizations. Kids Need to Read is helping to supply books for the clinic’s older children not served by ROR. Because of your generous support, we were able to raise $1,700.00 to buy new books for the disadvantaged children served by the clinic!

Kids Need to Read would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in our auctions during the month of February. Your continued support is much appreciated. A special thank you to all of our February auction winners:

Steve: $110.00 for Morena Baccarin signed Space Monkey
cenorona: $222.22 for River’s Necklace Set

Tis the Season

Once Upon a Time… It was a dark and stormy night… This is the tale that was told to me…: Throughout history, winter has been a season rich in the tradition of storytelling, serving as a captivating blend of entertainment and education for individuals of all ages. This enduring legacy is exemplified in Beowulf, one of the oldest recorded stories, where the narrative opens with a compelling command, “Listen! we have heard of the might of the kings,”. No matter the opening line, the timeless power and importance of story and literacy is in its ability to connect generations and communities through the ages.
