Simon & Schuster Prove Chivalry is NOT Dead!

Written by Debbie Brown

When you put out a call to arms, you can only hope someone will hear your cry and take action. The good people at Simon & Schuster Publishing did just that. Kids Need to Read approached Simon & Schuster with a request for a book donation from their company, and they came through with banners waving! The publisher donated ten copies of each of the books they publish on our book list for a total donation of 150 books! Our knight in shining armor was Paul Crichton, Director of Publicity for Simon & Schuster. With help from his assistant Bernadette Cruz, we will be able to fill the requests of many literacy programs this fall. A big thank you to you both!

Everyone at Kids Need to Read is grateful to Simon & Schuster for their support, and we look forward to working with you again in the future. We thank you for standing next to us in our battle against childhood illiteracy!
