What could be better than a Browncoat Christmas tree? Why, a Browncoat tree with a Terrify’n Space Monkey lurking in its shadows, of course!
Uber Browncoat Brad Nash created this fabulous Browncoat-themed Christmas tree, complete with Kids Need to Read buttons and bookmarks as ornaments, as well as a Jayne hat topper. Check out all of the creative Firefly/Serenity ornaments!
But Brad better keep an eye on the mischievous, furry creature furtively perusing the presents below. Those critters are known to tear up more than wrapping paper!
Kids Need to Read would like to take a moment to sincerely thank all of the many Browncoat and Whedonverse groups who have supported our mission this past year. Your giving spirit embodies everything the Browncoat fandom has become. I think Jayne said it best, “We’re just happy to be doing good works.”

Your support for Kids Need to Read has not only helped us to provide books to encourage literacy, but has enabled us to provide inspiration to children who have been given little reason to dream or to reach their potential. Together, we are empowering disadvantaged children!
The kids love the books; they have been an important part of our youth program. Some of the kids who did not have interest in reading are now beginning to show interest in reading because some of the stories in the books relate directly to their own settings. – Jacob D. Massaquoi, II. MBA, Executive Director, African Refuge, Staten Island, New York
We thank all of our supporters for a great year! We look forward to doing more good works with you in 2010!
Happiest of Holidays from all of us at Kids Need to Read!
