WOW! The Softwire: Wormhole Pirates on Orbis 3 Book Launch and KNTR Fundraiser was a huge success, but remember, it isn’t over yet. You can still help by presenting this coupon at ANY Barnes & Noble through April 24th. Up to twenty-five percent of your purchase will be donated to The Kids Need to Read Foundation! Thank you to the many people who have already done this all over the country. The money KNTR earns from your purchases will be used to give books to kids that need them.
We are grateful to all of you who turned up at the Barnes & Noble in Oceanside, California to support KNTR and our founding author, PJ Haarsma. The turn-out was so amazing and exciting! We all had a blast and hope all of you did too. Thank you for the many generous donations dropped in our jar! They really helped bolster the success of the event. Huge thanks to Rob Dobbs for his donation of Alliance money to the cause. It brought in many donations and gave our supporters the opportunity to have great Serenity memorabilia signed.
Our special guests, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk, had a great time meeting everyone. PJ, Nathan and Alan chose our three giveaway winners, adding their trademark humor to the proceedings. The high point came when Alan personally called the winner of one of the giveaway packages, hilariously informing her that she had won a date with … Nathan Fillion! Nathan asked, “Who is he?” The room erupted in so much laughter from the two jokesters, that the winner could hear nothing else.
Thank you PJ for making your book launch benefit KNTR. The best thing about the event was seeing all of the kids excited to read because you inspired them. We would also like to give a very special shout out to Lisa Haynes of Barnes & Noble for being so supportive of KNTR in every way. We look forward to many more events with Barnes & Noble in the future.
To our hardworking volunteers – it is your passion that fuels our mission!
