One Gift with Many Recipients

When television stars are expecting a baby, it is not uncommon for their fans to send them gifts to celebrate the new life they are bringing into the world. Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof, who became famous for roles in Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, are no exception to this rule. Bob Averell and other former members of the Bronze Posting Board, online fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer known as Bronzers, have banded together to send the couple a basket of children’s books to welcome their first child.

The Kids Need to Read Foundation admires the Bronzers choice in presents, but this story does not end with just one simple gift. When the group sends a present, they raise the money through individual member donations. Any funds left over after the purchase of a gift are donated to charity.

The Bronzers raised $125 over the amount needed to purchase and ship their gift to the expectant parents, so they chose to donate these funds to Kids Need to Read. What a wonderful way to give!

The Kids Need to Read Foundation thanks these Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans for extending their generosity to help us inspire kids’ imaginations through the magic of books.
