Today, 32.4 million American children go without books. In 2014, Highlights for Children raised 32,820 copies of Highlights, High Five, and High Five Bilingüe magazines for Kids Need to Read through #GivingTuesday, helping to provide desperately needed reading resources to tens of thousands of these children throughout the year. Kids Need to Read utilizes these treasured magazines in all of its major literacy programs, including READ Together, Build-a-Book, Grow Your Library, and coming soon—The Page Coach.
This December 1st, Highlights is conducting a new #GivingTuesday campaign for Kids Need to Read. They will be matching every new subscription purchased on December 1st with 12 issues of Highlights, High Five, and High Five Bilingüe magazines for our organization! These magazines are literacy-rich and excellent for adult caregivers to read to and with children—an activity vital to building high reading proficiency levels. Please support the Highlights 2015 #GivingTuesday campaign benefiting Kids Need to Read on behalf of children in need of literacy resources, while also providing for the beloved children in your life!
