For the sixth year in a row, Life Alert Emergency Response is sponsoring the annual Kids Need to Read wall calendar. The company has kindly contributed $2,500 to print the upcoming 2016 calendar, which will be introduced at the beginning of November during Tucson Comic Con (November 6-8) and in December during Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest (December 4-6). The calendar will feature original art and literacy quotes from twelve fine artists who graciously support our organization. Each inspired piece beautifully illustrates KNTR’s efforts to engender a sense of wonder and joy toward reading on behalf of children and adolescents everywhere. Due to the generosity of Life Alert and our extraordinary contributing artists, ALL proceeds directly benefit Kids Need to Read.

We thank the following artists who have contributed their time and talent to the Kids Need to Read 2016 calendar project:

Suzy Almblade
Daniel m. Davis
Travis Hanson
Jason Horn
Jason T. Kruse
Jackie Morris
Jeremy Brundage Owen
Tony Parker
Steven Riley
M. C. Sorenson
Sarrah Wilkinson
Mike Woodcock

We also thank the wonderful Dawn Russo for her constant support of this annual project!

You will be able to find the 2016 wall calendars in the Kids Need to Read eBay store beginning in early November. They are perfect for libraries and classrooms, shining a bright light on literacy all year long! Remember, 100% of the proceeds benefits Kids Need to Read!

This enduring legacy is exemplified in Beowulf, one of the oldest recorded stories, where the narrative opens with a compelling command, “Listen! we have heard of the might of the kings,”. No matter the opening line, the timeless power and importance of story and literacy is in its ability to connect generations and communities through the ages.
