For the fifth year in a row, Life Alert Emergency Response, Inc. is sponsoring the annual Kids Need to Read wall calendar. The company has kindly contributed $2,400 to print the upcoming 2015 calendar, which will be introduced at the beginning of June during Phoenix Comicon (June 5–8, 2014). The calendar will feature original art and literacy quotes from twelve fine artists who graciously support our foundation. Each inspired piece beautifully illustrates our mission to create a culture of reading for children and adolescents. Due to the generosity of Life Alert and our extraordinary contributing artists, ALL proceeds directly benefit Kids Need to Read.

We thank the following artists who have contributed their time and talent to the Kids Need to Read 2015 calendar project:

Mark Wayne Adams
Suzy Almblade
Marisa Grieco
Travis Hanson
Jason Horn
Jason T. Kruse
Jackie Morris
Jeremy Brundage Owen
Tony Parker
Steven Riley
Sarrah Wilkinson
Mike Woodcock

We also thank Dawn Russo for her never-ending support of this annual project!

If you have not yet purchased your copy of the KNTR 2014 calendar, there are still some left. Remember, 100% of the proceeds benefits Kids Need to Read! You will find them in the Kids Need to Read eBay store. They are perfect for libraries and classrooms, shining a bright light on literacy all year long!

This enduring legacy is exemplified in Beowulf, one of the oldest recorded stories, where the narrative opens with a compelling command, “Listen! we have heard of the might of the kings,”. No matter the opening line, the timeless power and importance of story and literacy is in its ability to connect generations and communities through the ages.
