The Hero of Canton Returns!

You’ll never worry about Reavers when you’ve got Jayne in your bunk! Kids Needs to Read Charity Auctions presents a “Terrify’n Space Monkey” signed by actor Adam Baldwin, who so memorably created the character of the mighty, but self-serving warrior, Jayne Cobb. Whether you know Adam best from Firefly/Serenity, The X-Files, Chuck, or another of his over 80 roles, you won’t want to miss out on this unique collectible item!

Inspired by a line from the show Firefly, our “Terrify’n Space Monkey” is brown, furry and adorable. He is 15″ high, wearing a shirt with “Terrify’n Space Monkey” hand painted on the front by our fabulous KNTR kid, Kelly, and a Kids Need to Read mini-button pinned to his shoulder – this primate is ready for action!

Thanks to Adam Baldwin for joining in the fun and adding his signature to our Space Monkey collection! Kids Need to Read is also grateful to Sean Harry of Starfury USA for assisting us in acquiring signatures and to and to Marty Dwyer and Denise Gary for donating the Space Monkeys to benefit Kids Need to Read.

Bidding begins immediately and opens at $40.00. You can place your bid at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110236844965 . Bids will be accepted until March 29, 2008.

The money raised from this auction will be used to purchase books for underfunded schools and libraries through Kids Need to Read, the charity project founded by author PJ Haarsma and actor Nathan Fillion.
