But Can He Herd Monkeys?

Monkey Madness continues with the 21st Kids Need to Read Charity Auction. Now is your chance to bid on a Terrify’n Space Monkey, signed by actor Ron Glass. Among a lifetime of TV and movie characters, Ron is dear to our hearts as the enigmatic Shepherd Book – surely the only preacher in the ‘verse able to knock off both sermons and kneecaps with equal aplomb!

Our Space Monkeys are 15” high plush monkeys, each wearing a shirt with “Terrify’n Space Monkey” hand painted on the front by our fabulous KNTR kid, Kelly. With a mini Kids Need to Read button on his shirt, this furry imp even supports children’s literacy! He is charming and grin-inducing, as well as being highly collectible!

Our thanks to Ron Glass, gracious as always, for signing our Monkey, to Sean Harry of Starfury USA for assisting our autograph efforts, and to Marty Dwyer and Denise Gary for donating these fuzzy darlings.

Bidding begins immediately and opens at $40.00. Bids will be accepted until Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 10pm ET/ 9pm CT/ 7pm PT.

Place your bids now in the comments section of this blog. Bids must be placed here to be considered. The winner will be notified by PM and will have 5 days to donate the high bid directly to the Kids Need to Read website at http://kidsneedtoread.org (or you can click on “KIDSNEEDTOREAD.ORG HOME” at the top of this page. Click on “Donate Now” then click on “Make a Donation”). Your Ron Glass-personalized Space Monkey will be mailed to you as soon as your donation is received.

The money raised from this auction will be used to purchase books for schools and libraries through Kids Need to Read, the charitable organization founded by author PJ Haarsma and actor Nathan Fillion.
